Hi all, hope you are all well. I've had yet another busy day at work and am in the process of job hunting. I am absolutly rushed off my feet. On Tuesday, the room i usually use was in use, and so i had to run my reception area from a little trolley and a miss matched chair. i had back ache yesterday and was busy today. My legs feel like i am wadeing through treacle. I have been up and down all day whilst my collegue wrote letters I was relived when the day had finished and my boss asked was i struggling. i said i was and she said maybe i should try co-codomol!! I didn't even bother to say it wasn't pain, but more like i'd been digging the garden or something (chance would be a fine thing!) To make matters worse, my gps surgery rang to say he wants me to have fortnightly bloods done again as there was something on my bloods I asked what she meant but the doctor wasn't in today and i have to request a phone call Thats about it! just thought i'd have a moan, and get back on with it!!! Bye for now, dawnybee

Hi Dawnybee,
I'm sorry you're having such a tough time at work. Have you had a chat with them to explain what kind of work environment would be better for you? As for your colleague suggesting co-codamol! People have so little understanding of real chronic illness ... they think what you've got can't be worse than something they've experienced and then wonder how you can't manage.
Are you on MTX? I wouldn't worry too much about the bloods. It could any of a umber of things and he's probably just being cautious. Will someone be calling you back with an answer?
My suggestion: a long soak in a lovely hot bath ... maybe some smelly salts and a glass of wine!
x x Joanna

Dawnybee It's good to moan and this forum is just the right place, as we all know JUST what you mean. Even family don't quite understand, despite seeing you at your worst. Once you are a bit better - they think that's it - you're on the mend! Haven't quite managed how to teach mine just what this dreaded RA actually means Hope you have a relaxing evening and are able to have a good nights sleep (that always helps!) Take care Beth

Hi Dawny,
Isn't that just awful when they tell you something's not right with your blood but they won't tell you what!!
Hope you're feeling a bit better now and good luck with the job hunting.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Dawnybee
Sorry to hear that your boss and you colleague just have no idea about how RA affects you. Have you got a proper desk back yet? I would definitely take in the NRAS leaflet for employers if you haven't already done so. Let us know how you get on with the blood tests. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Thankyou all for your support. I did have a nice bath. I'm not in work tomorrow which is good. I just feel very tired. I'm scared it's a flare. I feel like i did when i was first diagnosed and i didn't know what it was. I got in and had some tea which my husband made for me, a "freezer tea" but it was very welcome! I've to phone the docs tomorrow to speak to him. My boss has all the booklets about employment but i doubt she has read them. I can cope with niggles, but its this heavy legs, sluggish, treacle walking feeling i don't like! Thanks again, dawnybee

hi all again! The doctor said it was my white cell count that had dropped again. He'd rang my consultant and they were discussing stopping my meds, but because the neutrophils were still at a reasonable level, i am to continue with the meds. Felt better after talking to him, i wonder if thats why i was feeling a bit yukky? We are going to an 80's night tomorrow and i've bought some light blue jeans, a nice top and think i'll curl my hair! I even bought some white shoes for the occasion! Not as high as the ones i used to wear, but hey, i'll put on some blue eyeliner and hit the town! Thanks again for all your comments, it was really appreciated. When you are having off days, it's nice to know people understand! dawnybee
